Privacy Policy.

Last updated 11 September 2026

This policy explains what Glowbo stores, why we use it, where it is processed, and the privacy controls available in the app.

Account and profile data

When you create a Glowbo account we store your email address and the profile details you give us: first and last name, display name, handle, city, country, bio, profile photo, home club and any previous rating you enter during onboarding.

Your Glowbo ID (GBID)

Every player is issued a unique GBID in the format GB-XXXX-XXXX. It identifies you across matches, rankings and clubs, and is visible to other signed-in players.

Match data, ratings and statistics

We store the matches you record, who played, the scores, and the ratings and statistics calculated from them, including your GSI, OpenSkill rating state, streaks and win record. This powers leaderboards, club rankings, your profile and rating audit records.

Photos, likes, comments, follows and blocks

Profile photos you upload, match photos, likes and comments you leave on matches, follow and friend relationships, and any users you block are stored so the social side of Glowbo works and remains safe.

Reports and moderation

If you report a profile, match, photo or comment, we store the report reason, optional details, the content reference, review status and moderation notes. Reports are private to you and the Glowbo team; other players cannot see your report.

Feedback and screenshots

When you send feedback we store your message, the screen you were on, your browser or device information and any screenshot you choose to attach. Feedback is only visible to the Glowbo team.

Error reports

When something goes wrong in the app, it sends us a short technical description of the failure so we can find and fix it: what the app was trying to do, the error message, the page you were on, whether you were using the website or the iPhone app, the app version, and your account if you were signed in. Sign-in links, tokens and email addresses are removed before it is sent. We do not collect your device model or IP address with it. Error reports are only visible to the Glowbo team and are deleted after 30 days.

Authentication providers

You can sign in with an email and password, with Google, or with Apple if those providers are enabled for the production app. If you use Apple with Hide My Email, we only receive the private relay address and we never display your email address to other players.

Why we use your data

To run your Glowbo identity, calculate your GSI rating, build leaderboards and club communities, protect users, moderate content, keep the service secure, and improve the app. We do not sell your data.

What other players can see

Glowbo is a social platform. Signed-in players can see your display name, photo, GBID, GSI, club, rankings, match results, likes and comments. Your email address, feedback, reports and account settings are never shown to other players.

Match images shared outside Glowbo

Any of a match's four players can make an image of it and send it to WhatsApp, Instagram, X, Facebook or another app, or save it to their own device. What such an image may show of you is your choice, and the answer is no unless you say otherwise. While it is off you appear as an abbreviated name only, with no profile photo, no handle and no rating change; turning it on lets those three appear. We ask during onboarding and again the first time you make an image of your own, and you can change it whenever you like in Settings → Privacy and data → How you appear in shares. Because your answer is applied when the image is created, it governs images made from that point on — one already sent to a group chat cannot be edited or withdrawn, by you or by us.

Email we send you, and marketing email

We use your email address to run your account: signing in, resetting your password, confirming things you have done and replying about something you reported. That email is part of providing Glowbo and is sent whatever else you choose. Separately, we ask during onboarding whether you would also like occasional marketing email — new features, tournaments and what is happening at your club. We store that answer against your profile, and the answer is no unless you say otherwise: we never treat silence, a skipped step or a pre-ticked box as agreement. We do not send marketing email today, and when we do it will go only to players whose answer is yes. You can turn it on or off whenever you like in Settings → Privacy and data → Marketing email, and turning it off does not affect the email your account needs. We do not sell or share your email address.

Where your data is processed

Glowbo uses Supabase for authentication, database and storage, and Vercel to host the app. Google and Apple may process sign-in data if you choose those providers. We only claim an analytics provider where one is actually enabled for the production app.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed for safety, audit and service integrity. When you delete your account we remove or anonymise personal profile data and uploads where practical. Match records may be retained in anonymised form so other players keep an accurate competitive history.

Exporting your data

You can download a copy of your Glowbo data at any time from Settings → Privacy and data → Download my data. The export includes your profile, match activity, ratings, statistics and account interactions.

Deleting your account

Settings → Privacy and data → Delete account lets you request permanent account deletion. Deletion is irreversible and signs you out immediately. Competitive history involving other players may remain anonymised so their records are not corrupted.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data from inside the app. If you would prefer us to help you with any of these, contact us and we will review your request.
